Wife is out of town for a few weeks and the battery on her macbook has died apparently. At first she said it wouldn't charge. It was showing 100% on the indicator but once the mag was unplugged the macbook would shut off. Now she is getting an X through the battery icon I think.
Obviously its still under warranty, but where she is there is no mac store. She said there is an authorized mac dealer or something, found it from the apple website, but I'm not sure she would be able to take it there.
I assume its replaceable through the mail, but would she have to send the whole notebook in or just the battery?
What 800 # should she call? The only # we could find is for applecare. We didn't opt for the ext applecare (yet) so her 90 day phone troubleshooting period is over, so I don't know what they are going to say when she calls there. Will they point her to the the warranty dept?
She tried various fixes found here and other places and nothing worked. So its safe to say the battery is cooked.
