Hi guys,

I use Dropbox to sync my logs across an iMac and laptop. In the early builds of ML, it was still possible to customize where your histories are saved to, but in DP4, Messages saves the histories automatically to a Library archive. Is there any way to customize that? I'd rather not use a separate third-party Dropbox-syncing app/service, but I guess I will if I have to.

Thanks!

I know it might be a silly question, but have you checked in the Preferences pane for Messages? That's the only place I can think of where it would be an option to change the directory the logs are saved in.

Yes, I checked there first. There used to be an option to specify the folder, but now it just reads "Save history when conversations are closed" with a check box.

Hrmmm. I bet there is probably something in the plist file or a command that can be run to change the location, but we'll have to wait for someone else to mess with it. Sorry!

Sorry to resurrect, but did any one manage to figure out a way to sync chat history in the end?

(this through popped up when googling... thought it was worth a shot)
