Question about new SSD/HD combo

OK, I just ordered the new 2.6 gHz i7 Mac mini with a 1 TB drive. I have a 256 GB SSD that I want to put in it as well, but am uncertain if I can exploit the new approach Apple is using with its new Fusion drive as described here:

If I have the SSD set up as boot, will ML automatically implement this enterprise disk array strategy? Or do I have to initialize the drives as a single logical volume? Might be too early to ask this question, but there it is!

I don't think we know yet for certain. My expectation would be that initially it's locked into just Apple sold SSD/HDD combos with a hack available a la forcing TRIM on non-Apple SSDs in 10.7.

If they open the doors with this and allow it on all user installed SSD/HDD combos than major kudos to them. Sure it's what they should be doing anyways but it'd be a welcome change of pace that I'd gladly applaud.

I hope it's something in Disk Utility. May have to parse Apple's tech library to see if there's info on it.

Looks like there's a special version of Disk Utility for 10.8.2, but it doesn't specify if it's only for Macs with Fusion drives, or if it's the same for all drives (i.e., part of the standard 10.8.2 updater). I guess I have some experimenting to do when the mini arrives.
