When you have night shift automatically scheduled does it immediately shift the colors to the warm level you set or does it happen gradually? I had it set to turn on automatically a few minutes ago and I'm not really noticing a difference yet.

There's a short shift 1 min before the time you have set or the time of sunset and sunrise. It doesn't gradually change an hour before for example.

When you are at night, you will see difference, especially on white/grey background.
Or, you can also go to settings-->display&brightness-->night shift-->and adjust color temperature to see the effect of night shift in different color temperature in real time. After you stop adjusting it, it will return to normal. Meanwhile, you can also notice the fast transition in color temperature, from warmer to normal.
