Does anyone know if apple intends to add any other type of functionality for notifications in either the newer iPhones, or the newest iOS coming out?

My main issue is that I don't like the fact that I have to physically pick up an iPhone every time to see if I got a notification or not. I don't carry the phone in my pocket all the time, and like to keep it on a desk or on my drawer. So every time I leave the room, I need to pick it up to see if I got a message or a call.

I know a notification LED isn't coming, but what about something like always on display? Or maybe blinking display until the phone is unlocked?

Doesn't seem like anything like that is coming, short of a new upcoming iPhone offering something that isn't known. The closest thing is using the LED notification that's in accessibility settings (which uses the camera flash), but even that's not repetitive. Certainly something like a smartwatch can help as well in that it can notify of (at least some) notifications even when the phone isn't on you, but that's somewhat different.

Well that's a bit unfortunate, I know it seems like a minor thing, but it would be great if there was an app that just made the screen flash or blink until the phone was unlocked or something.
