Question about Portal being free

Hey guys.

I dont game at all, (I have in the past) but since Portal is free, I checked the trailer and I like the concept.

Only problem is that I will not be getting MacBook later in the summer months. Is there a way I can download steam/portal onto a windows computer right now and transfer it over?
