Hello everyone, I have been reading of broken screens on the Pro 14, should it be a concern? I mean is it happening often or I have stumbled upon "rare" cases?

Concerned cause I am thinking of getting the Pro 14.

Care to share a link? I've been using the 14" MBP since basically day one with zero problems (and to be clear I've used two separate units)

Hmmmm. Well given the global pandemic I don't go out as much as I used to but... My (former) M1 MBA and 14" MBP(s) have both survived a trip across the pacific, transit to and from a quarantine hotel, trips to Starbucks, and regularly being transported in a suitcase laptop pouch (in a case) so... personally I can't attest to the screens being easier to crack.

I will say the keys tend to... imprint? on the screen although this isn't exactly new (saw the same behavior on my Intel MBP from 2018.) Regular cleaning will keep the problem at bay but if left untreated it can lead to some semi-permanent marking on the screen (well it did on my old Intel MBP, not so much the Air but I only had that for a year.)

Personally though I would honestly be hesitant to buy a portable device this expensive without some kind of accidental damage protection. Do yourself a favor and see if you have a credit card or home/renters insurance policy that covers accidental damage and if not... you might want to get AppleCare+. In my region, AMEX offers accidental damage coverage on basically any electronics you buy (for an annual fee of course) so I use that.

Not sure about cracks but I do know for a fact that these screens scratch if you look at them wrong. Must be the soft coating on the screens. Don't be aggressive with a microfiber cloth. Also before shutting the lid make sure to wipe/blow off any debris on the keyboard deck so it doesn't get sandwiched in between the deck and glass.
