Say I downloaded an App when it was free, then deleted it -- but now I want to re-download it but now it costs money .. will I get charged or will I still get it for free no matter what price it becomes now?
When it was free you bought it, you even received a receipt for it. When you download it again it will be free because you've already purchased it.

Not me.I just hated to see that number icon in the "Apps Store" on my iPhone and I really wanted the app, so I deleted it from my Mobile Applications folder, redownloaded it again, and guess what? I was charged again. However, updates have worked so far without extra charges.
Not me.
As long as I've been signed into the iTunes store with the same account I used to purchase an app, going through the process of "buying it again" has always ended up with the message that says "You already paid for this, updates are free", and I don't get charged again.

No. That's the case with me too, with my hundreds of other apps. You are charged only once, unless the developer decides to charge for upgrades.
THIS IS THE CRUCIAL DETAIL and difference.
Say iTunes informs you that you have an update available, but there is a bug that prevents you from doing so. If you delete the app from your Mobile Applications folder (in essence, tricking iTunes to think you don't have it installed), have you guys then been charged for that app again?
Because that is what happened to me. The developer was at a loss, and so far, Apple hasn't refunded the extra $3.99.
I had the same senario as you mentioned but I was not charged for the download
Every time I tried to reinstall an app that I have deleted from iphone and through my itunes I still keep getting the message " You have already purchased this item. To download it again for free, select OK." How come my iphone still remembers the app?, and how do I manage to delete it in such a way that when I want to reinstall the app I will not get this message again?. I was using a trail period app, and my time had run out...so I wanted to a fresh reinstall from my iphone to use it again like new, but no matter how I try to delete the apps my phone keeps remembering the app?!!!!!. There is also a few other free apps with out the trial period I would like to reinstall fresh again with out this dumb ass message!. How do I get around this?.
many thanks to anyone that can assist me on this problem
