I plan on buying the 6 as soon as my local store had the gold in stock (although I'm impatient may just go with the silver).
I want to set it up as a new phone with the exception of contacts and SMS messages.
If I back up my iPhone 5 and restore from that It would obviously restore the whole thing. Which is not what I want. I just want the contacts and messages transferred to the new phone.
How do I do that?
Never used iCloud always backed up once a month on my PC via iTunes.
I assume there is a way, if I switched on iCloud to just save messages and contacts then have them restored by logging into iCloud on the new phone?
The messages are most important. The rest can be replaced. But I have a message on my phone from my mother sent to me before she passed away. So it's obviously very important to me not to lose that.
So can anyone tell me how to transfer just contacts and SMS from the 5 to the 6?
