I have a aluminium 2.0 Macbook with XP sp2 installed via Bootcamp on 40 gigs of my hard drive. I have tried Vmware in the past and liked much the convenience.

My question is: while using vmware, if i save something under windows, will it go to my 40gig bootcamp partition or to my OS X hard drive? My assumption is that it will be saved on the OS X hard drive, but i just wanted to be sure.

On a side note, i want to use windows mainly for Visual studio and 3ds max...not much else. Will Vmware be able to run effectively 3ds max if i give it enough RAM?

thanks much

To answer the 'save' issue. That depends on how VMWare is setup. If you setup VMWare to USE your bootcamp partition, then it saves it there, if you have another (kinda silly to do this IMO) windows installation seperate from bootcamp that your VMWare runs on then it saves it there.

In regards to Visual Studio, I use it almost daily in VMWare and it runs just fine (on my iMac) and I have use 3d Studio Max on my iMac with only 2g ram and in Unity mode and it ran ok. Heavy renders might cause issues, so depending on what your doing it may work and may not work well.
