I'm gonna say no; pretty sure whomever would buy it from you would have to activate their (new) SIM card anyways.

Hope that helps.

Just take it to a apple store and return it. If its unopened and not activated you should get a full refund.

If it were me, I would take it out and unlock it. I've seen quite a big price jump between locked and unlocked iPhones.

I agree, that's on my list of things to do once the supposed new one comes out in June-ish. It usually ups the price a hundo at least.

i thought about unlocking the phone and looked at many completed ebay auctions... I came to the conclusion that a new iphone sealed in the box sells for the same price as a new open-box iphone that was unlocked....its the factory unlocked iphones in sealed boxes that go for up to 200 dollars more

btw, at&t makes you keep a data plan for 6 months before you can stop cancelling it

so i assume your getting 16gb

you will pay around 250 for the iphone with tax (its 250 here in cali after tax)

then $30 x 6 months, which will be $180 + taxes which should be like 200

so you will be paying $450? or around that

Thats false.
Where did you get this information?

I would unlock it personally. I have sold 3 iphones in the past, and 1 out of the 3 was unlocked and i got 100 bucks more for it on ebay.
