Hello All,

Wanted to sell my emac on ebay.
Went to all registration and stop at entering my Ccard #.
Not sure why they ask for this. I'm not buying but selling.
decided not to register for now.

any body here sold anything at ebay. Is it normal to enter a credit card # just to register? Never bothered asking ebay why they want my card#.

Just wanted to sell emac so I can use some of the $$ to buy a powerbook.

Thannks for any input.

It costs $ to sell things on eBay.

They charge a fee for listing your item, and then they recieve of percentage of the final $ you sell your item for.

They want your cc number so that they can charge you for listing fees. They used to just send an invoice and then gave you the option on paying by cc or my check and printing off an invoice. Now it's all cc. If you're not comfortable doing that, there are places that will put your stuff on ebay for you and charge you a percentage of the selling cost.

They ask you for cc information to make sure you are not someone who is selling fraudulent items.

You decide how you want to pay your eBay fees, either Paypal or cc.
