Hi:)

I´m new to this forum, so please bear with me;)

I made a clean SL install. Repartitioned my system partition and made a FAT partiton. I want to install Win7 on that FAT partition.. Am i able to install reFit, and through that bootloader, be able to install Win7 on the FAT partition? And is it possible to see Win7 OS in reFit after installation?

Hope some of you talented guys can help me:)

Why exactly are you using FAT, windows 7 pretty much needs to be on NTFS, if you need to drag and drop files just download macfuse..

I would like to keep my systems separated from each other. If rEFIt can handle it? Should i download NTFS-3G and format the FAT partition to NTFS?

Yes rEFIt will handle it all, as I'm currently running Win7 x64 in this manner.
As Crevice said, when you install Win7 it will force you to format the fat32 partition into NTFS, so just format it to fat32 in Mac os and being the installation of Win7.

I gotcha now. What you are doing is actually a smart move and safer, so I would stick with what you have now.

I have tried to install Ubuntu 9.04 on an USB, through rEFIt.. Failed:(
Now when i try to install Win7, the windows installer won´t let me install it on my NTFS partition. Something about a wrong system volume?

And now after i have tried to install both (Ubuntu & Win7), rEFIt is showing a Ubuntu HDD and an Win7 HDD:confused:

I think it has something to do with the bootloaders that comes with both OS??

I´m still pretty lost:(

And the NTFS-3G "trick" about formatting the FAT partition, did not work. It worked in windows installer.

I have an iMac with 1TB HDD> 3 partitions-
1: System (Mac Journaled)
2: Windows (NTFS)
3: Library (Mac Journaled)

I think that Mac OS X has control over my windows partition?
