iPhone question about Sprint unlocked iphone 4s

So my sister was in Greece this summer and wanted to use her Sprint iphone 4s over there. I called Sprint on her behalf and had them unlock the phone for her; however, she wasn't able to complete the unlock because she didn't have her computer with her and therefore couldn't do a restore. She ended up just using GV over wifi while she was there and while it wasn't ideal, she managed.

Anyway, now that she's back we wanted to finish the process but since her phone is jailbroken, I didn't want to restore it. I tried using SAM to deactivate her phone but when I connected to itunes after that, we received a SIM-related error message (can't remember exactly what it was) and her phone wasn't working. I managed to get it working again by playing around with some of the options in SAM and it was working fine when I left her house last night.

This morning she was on a phone call while driving and the call dropped (not unusual at all since there are some dead spots in the area); however, the phone then displayed "No Service" and it wouldn't come back up. When she got home, she connected the phone to itunes and she was prompted to activate her phone again. That went through fine and the phone is working again now; however, now she's nervous that every time her phone loses signal, she's going to have to connect to itunes to activate the phone again.

Is there anything she can do to confirm that her phone will work properly from now on? Also, is there any way to check if her phone is indeed unlocked now? She said she didn't see any message about it being successfully unlocked when she activated the phone again via itunes, but it's possible that she may have missed the message. I did input her imei at http://dev.mk/iphone-simlock-status-imei-checker/ and it came back as unlocked but it would be nice to be able to try a sim from a different carrier to see if it is indeed unlocked.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

CDMA phones are carrier activated.
The SAM deactivate/iTunes re-activate trick works for GSM phones.

Take the phone to a Sprint store and have them reset the activation.

I thought the "o" network indicator meant roaming? I've seen the "o" on my phone only twice and both times it was in the same location of the city I was in so I assumed I had no coverage there. I don't remember mine being blue though. Regardless, when I had the "o" indicator I could still make/take phone calls and text. Just throwing this out there.

Does she have to go to a store to do that or can she just call Sprint and have them do it? Also, can she just restore the phone in itunes instead? (understanding she would lose her jb of course).

She can't make or receive calls at all so I'm guessing the the "o" she's seeing is different from what you were seeing. She definitely said it was blue though.

I can't imagine it's an antenna issue. It would be an extremely odd coincidence if she started having antenna issues immediately after I tried to use SAM to deactivate the phone.

Anyway, she called Sprint and they were telling her that she needed to erase the phone (not restore - they wanted her to go into the phone settings and do it). Luckily she called me first and I told her not to do that. I had her hook the phone up to her computer and I was going to just have her restore the phone via itunes; however, she saw a "waiting for activation" message and the phone ended up activating. Now it's working again without having to do a restore (still jailbroken of course) but she's nervous that it's going to keep crapping out on her. I had her uninstall SAM but I don't see how just having it installed would cause her problem.

What more can she do at this point? Again, I know she can restore but she will lose her jb since she's on 5. something right now and she'd like to remain jailbroken. Does it even make sense to go to a Sprint store at this point?

Also, I inputted her imei on 3 different imei websites - 1 says it's unlocked and the other 2 say locked. Other than doing a restore in itunes (which will kill her jb) or trying a foreign sim (not possible since she's in the US), is there any way for her to confirm that her phone is unlocked?

The best thing to do would be to take it into Sprint for a new one if she keeps getting dropped calls. Make sure you get the new one unlocked with Sprint as they'll try to tell you that she used up her unlock already.

The issue is that Sprint unlocked her phone and I'm trying to avoid having to restore the phone via itunes to get the "congratulations, your iphone has been unlocked" message. I'm getting conflicting info as to whether the phone is actually unlocked so I'm trying to figure out a way to find out for sure without having to restore and kill her jb. Just restore with SHSH blobs, fully activate it with iTunes and then re-jailbreak. I don't know why it seems more complicated than that.
