Question about SSD on iMac 27

Quick question, can you install SSD on iMac 27 i7 beside HD?

Because every time I read about SSD someone mention that he uses both.

On 2010 27 inch models you can add an additional SSD without having to replace either the ODD or HDD, because it has 3 eSata ports. On 09 models, you'll have to get rid of either the ODD or HDD to put one in.

Mine is 2010 mid i just got it 1 week ago.

Can I chose the SSD as the main hard drive and keep the 1tb for files only?
