Question about temperature

Been watching a lot of HD content today and now I have a few things that are concerning me. It's getting hot up in here!
75 degrees celsius for the CPU and 6200RPM fan. Once it reaches that 75 degrees celsius mark, I look in istat and the idle percentage will shoot up and the video will jerk for a split second? what is that?

Fluctuating between 57 celsius and 60 celsius 6200 rpm while browsing the web....

oh shoot, shut down for like 10 minutes,

now been in leopard for a bit just browsing and my cpu temp is now at: 62 celsius and started out at 3.3krpm fan and now within minutes I am at 6200rpm. I don't like where this is going.

110 degrees and 2500 RPM, surfing. My temperature and fan speed only increase when I watch video. Have only watched HD trailers and live video feeds thus far, and never long enough to see if it will overheat and partially shut down.

Mine for some reason since watching a full HD film will not calm down and get back to reg. temps and rpm

Finally went down to 55 celsius and all of a sudden just jumped back up to 67 celsius and full speed fan.

Hmm I might just go to the apple store tomorrow. This is messed up.

Mine is at 126 F (Enclosure Bottom)
Anyone think i should return it, the battery only lasts about 2 houres.

good call. i'd argue there's a heat dissipation problem with your unit.

from what i've noticed in istatpro, at 147F (cpu A) the fans will spool to around 6400 rpm, slow to 3000 rpm at 130F and stabilize to 2500 rpm below 123F. this is after suspending a virtualized session of vista at work that's ran for an entire day (my work uses a camera system that only works with ie/activex).

OK everything is back to normal. No craziness in hours. I am back to thinking its a software issue that will be soon fixed.

46-48 celsius stable

Watched another itunes tv show, fans never made it to 6200rpm in that episode, progressively got faster of course.

Watched some of a HD quality tv show on my HD, also stable, no crazy 75 plus celsius and core shutdown's

Mine was only crazy during certain things like plugging in a USB hard drive back when I first got my MBA. Then for a freak period yesterday I had the whole super hot, I think a core shut down. It lasted a few hours. Played around with SMU reset again as well as using the MBA without a power adapter and it all normalized again even after plugging the MBA power adapter back in.

This has become a big issue with me, and my decision to keep my MBA, which I love so much...

So my current test as follows..

Transferring a 3gig 1080p movie over wireless from my iMac..
Playing a SD DVDrip, while posting here on the forum, with iTunes open...

Movie so far (20min) has played flawlessly. Both cores are running around 1/5 of max, with the occasional sharp spike up and down...

Temp is 61-65C. Fans are going no faster than 2500rpm.. Highest temp I saw, for a brief second, was 73, and then right back to 64..

If this is the case all the time, the video issue apparently only effects certain units, and is not going to be a deal breaker for me... I don't expect my AIR to be a MBP or even MB, but basic video playing is a deal breaker..

The fan issue, battery issue effects all units in some way in my opinion. For me the issues didn't start showing up till much later (yesterday). If you play around with things you can get it tweaked.

What I did:

Shut down MBA, unplug adapter, SMU reset, turn MBA back on without adapter. Did wonders. I also re-plugged in the adapter after all that and I was back in leopard and all is well.
