Question about "Textfree Unlimited"

So I have an iPod Touch and am considering getting Textfree Unlimited so I can text my friends (don't have texting on cell phone) but have a question about the app. How would ppl with cell phones text me? Does the app give you a "number" or something that your friend texts too or or is only possible for them to reply to texts I send them?

You must text to your friend first. They can then reply to your text via a number that the pinger server uses. Your friend can then reply to that number as many times as they would like. Just to be clear, the app does NOT give you a unique number for people to text you.

So once I text them and they have that number the pinger server uses I don't need to text them in order for them to text me?

As long as they have a text message from you in their inbox or whatever, they will be able to send a message to you.

I am not completely sure, but I think if they save the number as a contact they may be able to reply from there but I have not tried that.
