This question is about those of you replaced your Macbook air 2010 because you had display, keyboard or w/e issues...

If you own a MBA with 4GB ram and have issues, will apple replace it at the store without any hassles?

Most of apple stores only carry 2GB at the moment, and yes, I know some carry 4GB model. But, mine is probably rare one. It is not ultimate model. It has 1.86 ghz/128 GB/4GB ram.

Do you think apple will replace it at the store? Has anyone own this laptop with these specs and replaced it apple store? Please share your experience.

Your best bet is to call and ask. When I called and asked my apple store if they had the "ultimate" 13" MBA, they initially said no, and I had them check if they did. They seemed very surprised that they did have them in stock!

They said no? That's stupid. Why would they say no without even looking for it first!? VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!

I hate when the associate says, no we don't have it stockkkkkkk.....
But, he/she never looked for it first and they actually had in stock.

I know. I was a little mad too. I asked if they had the 13" Macbook Air with the 2.13 GHZ Processor and 4GB RAM, and he said that "We can't do upgrades here in the store, because the RAM is soldered on..." I stopped him right there and said that I wasn't looking for an upgrade, and was looking for the actual machine. He then replied with a "No, that's a special model you have to buy online." I said that the other apple store i called had it, and he sounded shocked, and said he would be right back. He then apologized and said that they do have it in stock.

:p

The person at the Genius Bar first told me that they'd place a CTO order for a replacement, but then he looked in back and then came out with the box with the new one. I had an "ultimate" 13", which the stores carry, so that probably was the difference.

I had an interesting experience. My first MBA's display went bad so the genius confirmed it & replaced it (13" 4GB). That one only lasted one day before it died in the same way. Took it back, but they were out of 4GB configs. Asked if I wanted it repaired at AppleCare if they expedited it. I agreed. That was last week. Today my local Apple store called saying Apple sent them a new one for me. I've got 4hrs on it so far. I figure odds are in favor of this one being a keeper. Third times the charm ... :)
