Hey guys,

I bought a 1tb external hd today and partitioned it into two 500g's...I want to use one of the 500g's for time machine and the other half for storage of client pictures.

My question is, should I run time machine first and allow it to backup all of my info or move all of the pictures I want off of my internal and onto the external before running time machine?

I want to get about 10,000 pix off of the internal hd and onto the external

If I run time machine first and then move the pix will it move them back onto the external or delete what's on the backup as its no longer on the internal?

sorry newb here real confused

ok thanks so what i did was move my iphoto library to the partition I'm using for storage, I then redirected iphoto to that library, it pulls up all of the pictures fine. Now I can delete the iphoto library from my internal hd and have time machine backup both the internal drive and the partition I'm using for storage correct?

When I get another external HD I plan on using one for TM and one for storage but for now I'm doing the partitions.
