Question about Touch ID

hi I have a question in iOS 9 when you Touch ID it unlocks your phone. In iOS 10 is it the same way or do you actually have to press the home button. Let me know thanks

Pressing the home button and then leaving your thumb on touch ID unlocks the device in iOS 10, just like in iOS 9.

If it's woken up the lock screen already from eg raising to wake, you need to actually press the home button, not just touch it.
