I got tired of having a Drobo just for my iTunes library, so I bought a 10tb internal hard drive for my PC. I've almost finished transferring 8.5tb of data and since the drive has a formatted capacity of 9tb, sadly there's not much room left.

Once the transfer is complete, how should I notify iTunes of the library's new location? Should I delete iTunes and reinstall? Or is there a better way? I want to avoid a bunch of broken links or duplicate listings.

You can go into iTunes preferences and select the new media folder location.
It will then go through and verify all the media which at 8.5gb, will take quite a while. Don't think there's any way around that step.
FWIW a hard drive that full will have some performance issues. Might not be noticeable enough to worry about though.
