My phone is currently jailbroken, so Im pretty familiar with that, but have never looked into unlocking because I am happy with AT&T. However, my husband has Verizon and it is a Pay as you go plan that his company pays for.
I am considering giving him my iphone when I buy another or upgrade, but I'm wondering if he would be able to use it.
Does anyone know if unlocking would work with a Verizon pay as you go plan? I assume that once the phone is unlocked, I could just use the sim card in his current PAYG phone and put it into the iphone? I dont know if there is any difference in PAYG vs a regular contract SIM.
Can someone please confirm both? Thanks!

I'm sorry, but the answer is no. Verizon uses CDMA technology, whilst the iPhone uses GSM. CDMA basically means that they do not use SIM cards, which is in your (or your husbands case).

He may need a data plan for the phone to work.
