Was just watching youtube and some dude mentioned its not good to use the 6 power connectors to plug the display card coz it might fry your motherboard is it true? Because my previous motherboard did fail on me randomly not sure the exact cause but I hope to not let it happen again.

Currently running a RX580 in my 2010 Mac Pro 5,1

mini 6pin on the logic board is rated 75W (from Apple support staff, no official public document about this)

6pin on graphic card is rated 75W

8pin on the graphic card is rated 150W

So, mini6pin can power graphic card safely, if you connect one mini 6pin to the card's 6pin. OR use 2x mini 6pin to power a 8pin.

It will fry the board if you use a GPU that requires > 150W. If you want to install a more powerful GPU, then you will need to perform the Pixlas mod.

RX-580 is fine using the 2x6pin(LoBo) to 8pin(GPU).

BTW, instead of making posts for every question you have (which have been asked/answered multiple times), you really should just read/study this guide
