Ok so I got a new iPhone 3G 2 weeks ago, and in the last couple weeks I have been downloading many videos that are in MP4 format, however I get them from a site that I pay a membership fee to for my PSP and I'm pretty sure that they are somehow specifically formatted to play on PSP and not iPhone. At first I just assumed that due to the fact that they are still MP4s they would work. The thing is, I have a LOT of time invested in downloading all these movies (more then 300 movies, I love movies) and I would like to be able to view them on my iPhone. Is their any way to make it so I can play them on my iPhone? I have tried to convert them using the native iTunes converting software but it doesn't seem to work at all, 1st of all it only allows me to even click "Convert to iPhone" on a few of the movies (Most are grayed out) and once I click it , it takes 6 hours to complete just 1 movie conversion and THEN IT STILL DOESN'T WORK!!! Also, I have tried to use converting software from Imtoo iPhone video converter, 4media iPod video converter, and one other. When using these programs I try to add a video file and when I click on the folder that contains all my MP4 videos they are all grayed out and un-clickable???? This is VERY FRUSTRATING!! Also, I am using a Mac if that matters. Is there any reason that anyone can see that would be causing these issues?? Is there a program that will ACTUALLY WORK (For Mac) Free preferably! Also, I have noticed that if they don't play on my iPhone, they won't play in my car either (and my car TV supports MP4/AVI/DIVX/XVID etc.) and I would like them to play in my car too. as it is I have to keep 2 separate folders one with AVI/DIVX/XVID for my living room theater system because that is the only format my player supports. I am getting very frusterated, I wish there were only 1 format for video, just pick the format with the best quality vs. file size and run with it. I guess it's kinda like screw drivers, Manufacturers still make straight slot screws when everyone knows that Phillips heads are far superior, but then everyone would only need 1 screw driver and their sales would be cut in half....lol
