I am a long-time pc user seriously contemplating switching to Mac (most likely a 17" PowerBook). I am an Episcopal priest currently using Logos' Scholar's Library (biblical studies) for windows and would like to know if anyone out there has any experience running windows programs (especially the one I mentioned above) using Virtual PC 6.0 for XP. Is it a pain, or does it work reasonably well and quickly? Thanks.

I run Virtual PC for Windows .NET Server and Free BSD on my 17 inch Power Book.

Free BSD runs very smoothly. Windows .NET Server is a little slow, but entirely tolerable.

I would highly recommed getting 1 GB of RAM if you are planning to use Virtual PC with the 17 inch Power Book.

I've run an number of different apps under VPC 6 with great success. I would also recommend 1 GB of memory. You might find that win2k runs a bit better than XP, and does have some of the privacy issues that XP has.
