Question about Viruses using Bootcamp

If I use Windows on a Mac via Bootcamp, am I prone to get a virus even if I do not use the internet? What if I'm connected to the internet via Wifi, ethernet, broadband, etc., but not using the internet (using Firefox, Safari, or Explorer)?

Even if I use the internet, is it still possible to get viruses even when I'm on trusted websites such as google or yahoo.com? It's not like these are suspicious websites.

I guess I'm wondering how viruses, in general, get into a computer.

99% of ll the viruses you will get using any computer,will enter via download.Weather it's an email attachment or downloaded mp3.When you are using windows,you are relatively safe as long as you never click an email attachment,or download something form a shady site.Theres other ways a bug can get in,but this is by far the most common.For that last 1% is where ou firewalls help us.But if you are worried about getting a bug in your bootcamp partition,even if you got a reall bad virus its not the end of the world.That virus wont touch your OSX partition.It will just hit the Windows side.So basically f you are using a router,and you never touch a spam email attachment,or download shady files,you are pretty safe.

It's entirely possible to get viruses over the network if you have other Windows computers and you have file-sharing enabled.

But the above poster is right. Don't download stuff that appears shady and don't open email attachments that are executables unless you're expecting it (and you know who it's from).

Unless you want to believe the dumbo in another post who fell for the whole "My windows computer got a virus in 12 minutes of being on the Internet" FUD.

Thanks all for the replies. Yes, I use Windows now and I don't get major viruses, but I have to say that I have AdAware, and I'll run it just to see if my computer is infected. I get updates saying there are bad files that should be cleaned out. I am kinda surprised that I got them considering I didn't download anything or visit suspicious websites.

I guess that's the 1% that I shouldn't worry to much about?
