i have an ipod classic 80gb

i've used it on my windows pc all the time

and i'm just wondering when i get my first mac will it still work ? or will i have to restore it ? Won't be a problem if i have to as i'll have all my music already on itunes waiting to be synced :)

thank you

Most likely you have to since Windows formats it as NTFS which is incompatible on Mac OS X. And vice versa, OS X formats it as HFS+ which is incompatible on Windows.

You can transfer music to it regardless of whether its Mac or PC formatted. The only thing you will have some issues with is that if you want to install a software update for the iPod it will have to be on the computer that you set it up with unless you restore the iPod which WILL clear the data on it.
