The description for standby with always on mode enabled says that it will only be always on if "attention" is detected (what ever that means)

Did anyone use it at night? Does it turn off because it didnt detect any "attention"? I was thinking that it would make the 14 pro into a real night clock to always be able to look at it without interacting with it.

thx

I was just asking the same question. Did you find any answer? I tried this last night, but sadly the screen turned off during night because of no detection.

I’m not sure what the timeout is, but my 14PM eventually turned the standby display off. I have always on enabled.

I don't have a phone with an AOD, but the new Standby feature simply uses the existing AOD functionality.

AOD isn't actually AOD despite Apple's attempt at branding it as such. It turns off whenever the phone feels lonely.

Apple’s description of how the regular AOD works is exactly how my 14 PM behaved using Standby. It’s not always on.

Just offering my speculation but could Sleep focus’s sleep screen play a role?

I’m looking at my settings and for night mode there are toggles for motion for wake, is that on for you?

I’m waiting for my MagSafe mount to arrive today, so I have yet to check it out

Yes, the screen shuts off with the sleep focus on. Also everything is red. The screen instantly wakes back up with any kind of movement Like an Apple Watch.

only have 14pro but it works great. i can see it out of the corner of my eye, screen off. i turn and look at it, clock comes on. pretty brilliant.
