When using the Ipod portion, or surfing the net/google maps ect and you get a telephone call are you notified of the call with and option to take the call or does the caller automatically go to voice mail like the Instinct phone...??

Yes, the screen goes over to the call from whatever you are doing and you can answer, ignore or do whatever you like. After you are done with the call, it takes you right back to what you were doing before. It's really quite slick 
You are notified of the call with Number/Caller Info and a button for Decline and Answer. Then it will go back to the iPod after you select something, caller hangs up, or your call ends.
Thanks all that settles it...We are returning the Instinct and will await the Iphone even though 3g ends about three miles up the road according to the ATT 3g Map..I was already done with my Sprint contract before taking the Instinct and can cancel within 30 days...(I have till July 21, hopefully leaving 12 days to port out old number over !!)
Do you have an Instinct? I have some questions about that piece.

We have since the 21st of June...It is pretty slick, but maybe you should wait till there is a software upgrade...No compaibility with MAC, although I have sinc'ed it with VmFusion...Phone doesnt work when watching TV..(Not good when boss calls !!)..Just seems to be lacking a bit...
