...how does the picture quality of the HD purchased movie compare to the quality of HD rentals? Pretty much the same?

I havent purchased any HD movies as I live in the UK and we dont get them yet. But I would think that they would be exactly the same files as the rental versions, otherwise that means Apple would have to store 3 different versions of each movie on their servers, SD version, HD rentable version and a HD buyable version. So it makes sense that the HD rentable and buyable versions would be the same if only to save storage space for Apple.

The quality is really good. I don't have the best HDTV (32" LG can't remember the model now), but movies look fantastic. Not as good as my blue ray, but the same quality as any HD DVD or TV channel.
