I posted this at Spymac, but I didn't get to see what the answer was, as I forgot about my question until Spymac shut down for their WOS upgrade. Anyways...

What's the quality of iMac's mic? I ordered an iMac (G5, 20", 1GB RAM) but I'm wondering if the internal microphone is sufficient for audio chats, or if I should look into getting an external microphone.

Also, if the internal is not sufficient, does anyone have any reccomendations on microphones that have worked well for them?

Thank you! :)

They're probably the same, so I'll say this: My mic on my iBook is great for audio chats. It's even good for some recording. It picks up a little fan noise, but nothing major.

I also had the opportunity to try a "MicFlex" out and it worked quite well, too. It can be put farther away from the computer eliminating the computer fan noise, especially, I would think, on computers with more fans like the iMac.
