Question - Memory upgrades for new iMac

I just put an order in for a new 24" iMac on order (YEAH!!!).

To save a couple of bucks, I thought I'd install my own RAM.

Here's the question:

Apples specs keep referring to
PC2-5300 (667) DDR2 200-pin SO-DIMM
but everything I keep finding for sale is
PC2-5400 (667) DDR2 200-pin SO-DIMM

Can someone tell me what the difference is?
More importantly, will the PC2-5400 work fine in an iMac?

My guess is that it's fine, but I figured someone one these forums would know for sure.

Go to http://macsales.com and go to the Ram selector. Then pick your Imac. I ordered the 4 gb kit from them Wed. and will get it this morning. They are recommended on here by many people and have a lifetime warranty. Can't go wrong with that guarantee if the ram works like everyone is telling me.

I'm in Canada, so I was looking at ordering from http://www.canadaram.com, but it'd be nice to walk into a store and pick the memory up myself. I'm really wondering if something like the OCZ 2GB 667DDR2 SO-DIMM (http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/memory/ocz_pc2_5400_ddr2_sodimm) works in the new iMac.

I'd also like to know regarding PC2-5300 vs PC2-5400. They seem to run at the same frequency so I suppose it should work fine? The model number for the 4GB kit is KTA-MB667K2/4G after all.

Buy it and try it. Just find out their return policy. 5400 has a higher bandwidth. It also may have a lower cache latancy. Whether the iMac will take advantage is another thing. Try some before/after benchmarks.

I ordered their memory as well. Unfortunately, it will arrive a week before the computer does.
