Hi,
I picked up a 2.4G MBP last Friday and I'm wishing that I went with the 2.6G version.

If I go back to the store, will they swap me out for the 2.6 model without a restocking fee? Any advice?

Thanks,
Mark

Once you open the package, they'll charge you a 10% restocking fee. Depending on some stores, speak politely to a manager to see if he'll waive the restocking fee. I did that a number of times and it worked. But be frank with the manager from the store, letting him know that you're upgrading to the top of the line model.

Let us know how it goes.

No Luck

I even went to the store manager, they wanted to charge me a re-stock - so I'm happily keeping my 2.4 unit as I was not going to spend $200.

I understand but am surprised that a customer who wants to upgrade within a week wouldn't be able to.

If you're kind of about it and you meet a nice manager, sometimes they will wave the restocking if you ask for store credit for an upgrade.
