question on backgrounder for regular 3g iphone

i have a regular iphone 3g, and i was thinking about installing backgrounder and proswitcher.

i just wanted to know how backgrounder runs on an iphone 3g. I know that 3g has much less memory than a 3gs but i wanted to know if i only used it for certain situations if it was worth it.

if i used to to background slacker radio while i checked safari would that work on a 3g iphone, and if i just backgrounded facebook so i could keep the facebook chat open while i used safari or another app (non game)

i pretty much woould never run anything huge like a game while i backgrounded.

my only other question woujld be does backgrounder kill your battery when your not using it at all. i know if your using it it will run the battery faster but if i'm not is it still draining it?

Its not backgrounder that eats battery is the multiple processes that you run at once that do that. If you're not backgrounding then the battery shouldnt be a problem.
With a 3G and its lower memory you might experience some program crash and close down when its low on resources. Besides that it should still work though.

I've been using backgrounder on my 3G since...hmm many months! Probably last year. It works fine, but your best bet is to just give it a try. It's super handy.

Also there is a new backgrounding/app switcher out that's getting really good reviews. Can't remember what it's called but check Rock by popular apps and it's toward the top.

thanks i'll probably mess around with it see how it runs. i'm more apt to leave an app running while i quickly check something else rather than leave the phone on with multiple apps running for a longer period of time so we'll see what happens

I think you're referring to Multifl0w. Multifl0w is cool, but it's expensive and very buggy. Now there is afree app by Ryan Petrich called ProSwitcher which does the same thing but does it better and with fewer bugs. There's no reason to get Multifl0w; get ProSwitcher from Cydia.
