This is a really novice question, but I just upgraded from a Mac Pro (2013) to a Mac Studio Max, and I'm not sure if the front USB-C ports are working properly or not
So for starters, my iPad Air (usb-c) is recognized and charging when I plug into the front USB-C slot. I also have a USB-C to Ethernet cable that I have plugged into the second USB-C port and the computer recognizes that as well. So when dealing with USB devices all is well.
When I plug my old Thunderbolt 2 drives (via a TB2 to USB-C adaptor) in to the front USB-C ports, I get an error that I "Cannot Use Thunderbolt Accessory" "Connect accessory to a Thunderbolt Port on this Mac." And then when I plug them into the rear TB4 slots they work perfects.
I was under the assumption that the USB-C pots on the Mac Studio Max were able to read Thunderbolt 2 Devices with an adapter but that seems to not be the case. Is this worked as it should? On the phone Apple said something is wrong but they didn't seem very confident.
