so i read somewhere that if apple releases a new computer within so many days of when you bought yours, that they can do an upgrade or give you a discount. is there any truth to this? if so i would rather just have the discount, because i already sent of the rebate for the printer and i don't think they would take it back anyways. let me know if anyone knows.

well as of today it is 9 days since i purchased it. you know how i would even go about doing it?

I would say calling AppleCare, or going to your nearest Apple Store

yeah i'm thinking about calling. i read under their policy that if they change the price they will give you a refund, but mine isn't really sold anymore from what i see.

so i called apple and if you bought a macbook within the 14 days, you can return it to the store for the new upgraded one, but be aware the store supposedly can charge you a restocking fee if the box is open. the guy at apple said it was crappy, but there isn't really anything they can do if the store wants to do that. my store is one of those stores, so i'm not paying an extra 10% on something that is the same price as the one i bought 12 days ago.
