HI all, I have been following all the threads here as I see a MacBook Pro/Mx in my future. I use Parallels now on my MacBook Pro/Intel.

I have a question I don't think I have seen discussed - I have virtual machine pvm files which traditionally I just love to a new computer with Parallels. Will these pvms be able to be moved to Parallels running on a Mac theoretically with Windows on ARM in the future?

My understanding is that Parallels Desktop on M1 does not support Intel based VMs. Which means you will not be able to “move” or migrate any Intel based VMs.

I second the previous posters message, Parallels on M1 will not run intel VM's, so it wont be able to do what you want.

I just installed Parallels V16 on my M1 MacBook Pro. During the install the VM Creator Tool specifically said you cannot use previous Intel VM's from previous installs of Parallels on the M1 MacBook :-(, thus you also have to join the Windows Insider Program to get the Preview Release of ARM Windows 10.

Right, so it's install your software like on a new machine without a migration, got it. Thanks all!

You may also have trouble installing certain programs under the Preview Release of ARM Windows 10. It's not an easy transition at the moment.
