hey, just installed the beta and was wondering - is it expected behavior or a bug that slide over apps cant be moved off the screen anymore by dragging them on the bar to the side?

It’s actually not a bug. It’s the old slide over feature Apple removed. Swipe from the edge of the app to remove and then swipe the edge of the iPad screen to bring it back. It was part of the old OG iPad Pro slide over feature.

Are you sure? I don’t get how it’s supposed to work anymore. Why would they change this?? Sliding the app on the top bar off screen made perfect sense, but now it just won’t go off the screen but hovers around in a weird way or goes into split screen..

Can confirm.
Omg, that‘s just awful! Is there any logic in this? How is anyone supposed to understand to grab an app „by the edge“ ?? That‘s so clumsy and unclear. I have been trying it several times now and it‘s so less convenient than it was before. Why would they limit the functionality of the top bar in this way?
Try this with mail in slideover- what happens is that you will mark three mails as „unread“ before you‘re able to actually slide the app off screen!! -_-

Argh this is so nerve wrecking! I really hope they will bring back the old functionality. It just makes zero sense that you’re able to drag the app all the way to the side of the screen with that little handle, but it just won’t disappear...
