Hi, i want to buy MacBook, and there's a free ipod for a college student right, im just confuse, because i can choose any ipod, but the banner said, "buy a mac and get a free ipod", so is it any type of ipod i chose will be free? or if i choose the cheapest (ipod nano 1Gb) it'll be free, but if i choose ipod video for instance, then i'll get a less rebate? Can someone explain me.. if i can choose any type of ipod then i'll choose the 60Gb ipod video for sure :p

thanks :)

you wont get it for free you get a rebate for the value of the 2gb nano of which you can buy any nano or greater

In otherwords you get a credit max of 179 dollar gift card to be used on a single ipod. I was wanting to get like 2 or 3 shuffles but yea nocando unfortuantely

Oh if you get a cheaper ipod, you get only the credit for the value of it. So you cant get a shuffle and get money back with you also.

oh thanks.. so, when buying the macbook, there's an options to include an ipod with my purchase, if i dont include any ipod, is it ok? then i'll get a rebate coupon worth of 2Gb ipod? that i can cash it if i dont want to buy any ipod?

1. Select your iPod.

Choose your iPod and enjoy big savings after mail-in rebate.*
2. Complete your purchase.

Your new Mac and iPod must be purchased at the same time.
3. Submit your rebate.

After you receive your products, start your rebate by downloading and mailing the rebate form.

at options no.2 it said i have to purcahse both at the same time, what if i dont purchase any ipod when buying the macbook?

sorry still confuse..

Then you don't get a free iPod if you don't buy them at the same time. You unfortunately can't just get a check or something for $179 and go cash it in and buy whatever. And like someone said above, you can't buy like a shuffle and then have the rest of the money credited to you.

oh i get it.. so when purchasing the macbook, i should purchase any ipod, and will get a rebate for max of the value of 2Gb ipod? ok.. and this college discount is only for telephone or online purchase? can i get college discount when purchasing at apple store?

Yep
I am not sure about the apple store. Probably but be sure to bring your school id if you do. Personally, I think the online store is very hassle free

yes, you can get the deal if you buy in store. be aware of the fact that you have to pay the cost of the iPod up front, and then the $179 rebate check is mailed to you a few weeks after you've filled out the paperwork and sent in the UPCs and receipt. It's not an immediate discount.

a check.

and PS: you're going to have to check on your country's rebate offer because as far as I know, it's a US only thing.. though I know the UK has a different type of rebate with the same gist.

I believe the rebate is a regular ol' check. I mean they make you buy the ipod already so they are simplyreimbursing you. Their plan is to catch those too lazy to fill out the forms for the rebate lol

Once you get your rebate check cash it in and do whatever you want with it, gas food etc lol
