What happens if your phone gets replaced due to defects\upgrade whatever, and you choose NOT to "restore" from a backup in regards to in app purchases? Just wondering this as I'm picking up the in app purchase for Navigon live traffic, and I got to thinking about it. Is the data\proof that you "purchased" the add on stored on the phone only, and in any backup, or is it somehow changed in the application that is stored in iTunes? (Meaning if you re-install from scratch, the app still knows about the purchase).

Sorry if I'm not asking clearly on this, but it has me wondering.

Thanks for any input.

I reloaded Rock Band onto a newly setup phone and it let me redownload the DLC after I gave my iTunes password.

It seems to be as easy as redownloading apps using the same account they were purchased with.

Cool. I was kind of hoping that is how it would work with these things, but hadn't really read anything specific on it.

Thanks!
