Asking for my father-in-law.

He has a lot of Gmail contacts on his iPhone that can be viewed in the Contacts app within a "Gmail" group/folder. This is an "on my iPhone" folder. He wants to move these contacts into his regular iCloud contacts list.

Here's the problem: He's trying to move them because they're from an old Gmail account that he no longer has access to. And because he doesn't know the password anymore, he can't move them, because it's asking him for the Gmail password when he tries.

Since these Gmail contacts are physically on his iPhone, surely there is a way to export them?

Can this be done if he plugs the phone into a Mac? Can it be done with a 3rd party app that can rip data from his phone's storage? Can it be done at all?

Unless I'm confused, what is the purpose of this reply?

I asked if there are any options to pull the contacts off of his iPhone's hard drive without the Gmail password as he doesn't know it.
Sorry for trying to help you, pal
