Question regarding storing movies on external HD

I am using a PC to hold my itunes library and the PC is filling up fast now that I am adding my DVD's. I want to store my movies on an external drive and have them in itunes and link to them.

I know this is possible with macs by holding down one of the buttons, is it possible with a PC?

I do this when I'm convering files. I load them into the Library, but keep them off my HD. Just import them with the keep iTunes folder orgainzed unchecked, they will then stay in your library without being in the defauly iTunes folder. They will only move into it if you convert them or use the consolidate library function.
