Hey guys!

I placed my order, but I see over the trade in deal that it states on my receipt the following;

Apple Trade In

Total estimated trade-in refund: $450.00

Once your trade-in has been received and verified, a refund will be applied to your original payment method. Part of your refund may also be issued on an Apple Store Gift Card.

What throws me off is the “part of your refund may also be issued on an Apple Store gift card”.

What would warrant this? Is this if the trade-in phone’s value exceeds the value of the new phone?

I don’t make any in store purchases which is what worries me. I only buy a new iPhone every few years….

Thanks in advance!

Yep, only if your new purchase was less than the value of your trade in.

As an aside, gift cards can now be used for Apple services (iCloud, App Store purchase, iTunes, etc) as well.
