Hi Guys,
Generally if I am going to use the computer again the same day, I select Sleep. However if I don't plan to use my iMac until the next day or later, I use Shut Down. When is it better to use Shut Down and/or Sleep? Thanks.

What you're currently doing sounds perfectly fine.

I typically shut my computer down every other day. I know you weren't supposed to do that some time ago, but I think modern computer internals can handle frequent shutdown/start-ups.

The only time my computer ever gets turned off is if I boot into Boot Camp (which won't happen once Steam comes out), I need to restart to install an update, or going away for a few days/week. Other than that, I just leave it go to sleep by itself.

Sleep all the way. I restart mine like once or twice a month and that's only when an update comes or I leave the house for longer time. Never had any issues
