To the developers here, I have been offered a promo code for an app, and the developer has asked me for my email and iTunes user i.d. I'm wondering why he would need my iTunes user i.d., any thoughts on that?

Well I say he's the developer, but according to his email, he's actually some kind of director. Now that I think about it, though, maybe he's asking for the name the review would be under. I emailed the support site listed on their application page in the app store, so I'm pretty sure he's legit. I'm just wary whenever somebody asks me for a 'user i.d.'.

i think he's just trying following up/provide some accountability. in the past when we've given out promo codes, very few of those who promised to review actually did. as a result, we don't bother doing it except on special occasions now.
