I was using a OmniDiskSweeper and stumbled upon a Windows10 folder. I was recently trying to create a media creation usb for windows, so it could be that, but the created date is way off. I tried doing it a week ago. Is it safe to delete? Pretty sure it is, but wanted to check with others. Thanks!

That is in the /Volumes/ folder. If it's not the mount point of a Windows file system then it is safe to remove.
Type mount in Terminal.app to get a list of mount points.

Thx, no sign of it when I typed mount. I have never had windows on this machine. I just tried to create a bootable usb using a Mac. What a nightmare. I gave up after 6 hrs. Ultimately grabbed another dell laptop and made it no problem. So ok to delete then, right?

Probably.

Is there anything inside of it?
It doesn't get deleted automatically after a restart?

Could you explain this a bit more clearly?
What KIND of "bootable USB" are you talking about?

Is it:
- A USB flashdrive "installer" (installs copy of OS onto another drive)?
or
- A bootable drive that RUNS the OS, does not "install"?

If you're using an m-series Mac, I don't believe that you can create (on a USB flashdrive) a bootable-to-the-finder version of the OS. They just don't work, probably due to speed and disk controller issues.

You CAN create a bootable flashdrive installer.

Try downloading "Mist":
https://github.com/ninxsoft/Mist (tells you how it works)
(download the "dmg" file from above URL)

Mist will download the OS you need AND create a bootable flashdrive installer, all in one integrated process. Worth a try. And... it's free.

thx, but it was for my pc. I got the stuck at 68% error when trying to reset the pc. I rebooted while stuck and then got endless restarts. had a hell of a time trying to make a bootable usb for windows on my Mac. Gave up and used a seldom used dell laptop to solve my problem. its working good again now.
