Morning all. I went to the apple beta site and downloaded the gm ios 10 to my phones and ipads, after downloading it I deleted the ios 10 profile ( I think thats what you call it) thru settings-general. My question is if any upddates become available thru apple ( not beta) will i receive them on these devices? Thanks

I did the same exact thing last night. Lol. Like, since we already have 10.0.1, we will still receive the public release update on Tuesday...?

Crap, I sure hope I didnt jump the gun here. I've never done this beta stuff. I didnt do any type of backup on any of these devices ;( I plan on getting the iphone 7 plus so im not too concerned about my phone, I am however concerned with my daughters phone and our ipads. My intention was to try it out on my phone first until the public release, once my daughter saw all the cool features she wanted me to put it on her iphone (which she is keeping for quite a while) and ipad, I did and now I'm nervous about getting any future final release updates.

I was reading other threads and it seems Beta testers will still get the public release on Tuesday. Guess we will see. As of right now 10.0.1 is working great for me.

Taken from www.pocket-lint.com
"Interestingly, the iOS 10 GM update prompt under the Settings app in iOS does not have a "GM" or "beta" label, so it looks like beta testers are downloading the official release of iOS 10, which includes several new features and design changes, such as a new lock screen experience, improved Messages app, new emoji, a Home app, and redesigned Apple Music app, among other things."

Every year in the past, GM has been the same as public release.

You already have it.

Thank you! I'm new to this beta testing too. Not sure how it worked. :)
Also, when the build number loses the 5 that is squeezed in the middle of it... that signals move from Beta to public.

Without a beta profile installed you should be getting regular public updates (basically any public updates that are newer than the build that you have).

The beta profile is what I deleted ( I think) that was under General-Settings? Under VPN?

Should have been the one related to iOS beta installation (not to VPN, which is different).

It was under the VPN option; iOS beta Public Profile, then you click on it and select Delete Profile. You probably did it right.

If under as in visually below that option, then, yes, I guess that would be right.

I installed the GM version and so far so good.
Except when I tried the texting , the bubbles and effects didn't work. I guess it requires the other iphone with the same version of ios to have effects go through. I assume?

Yes, the other party must update to iOS 10 for that to work. I'm testing with someone on 9.3.5, they get the app store downloaded emojis, and "finger designs" but they do not animate for them.
