can iMacs do this as well? or only the normal Mac towers?
Yep, with an
Intel-based iMac you have two basic choices:
1) You can install bootcamp -- which allows you to select Windoze-only or OSX-only operation whenever you power-up the computer.
2) You can install VMware Fusion (or Parallels) -- which allow you to run Windoze (any flavour) and/or Linux (any flavour) as virtual machines on the OS-X desktop. (You can drag-n-drop files/photos/etc between OS-X and Windoze applications running side-by-side on the iMac desktop.)
IMO, VMware Fusion is the best solution, in
most cases -- but bootcamp is the way to go if you really need maximum Windoze speed performance, e.g., for video games.
See VMware.com for a free (and 100% functional!) 30-day evaluation copy,
then buy the VMware license from amazon.com -- only $40 after rebate.
