I'm trying to find out which models of mac this ram will fit for SURE
I use to sell huge mountains of buffered ram and mac users would buy it and say they had good luck with it but I don't understand the naming schemes
I'm pretty sure that they said they had macs called
1,1 and 2,1 and 3,1
A "Mac Pro" ?
Can anyone explain to me why they have processors or years or other things in the name sometimes, please? Does any of that matter?
I mean to say
As an example;
Are there 2,1 and 2,1 which is a whole different model and both are 2,1? Or any pitfalls like that to look out for?
I've decided to sell some Kingston KTA ram on ebay and I know that listings geared toward mac owners seem to be more popular and higher on the price
I'm not completely ignorant over here I've done all of the research I could find - I'm not lazy - from what I know this stuff is certified by Kingston to work in macs, for some reason (I used it from time to time in old dinosaur Dell machines like say the T5400 and T7400)
It looks just like kvr series sticks, heatsinks are what you'd see on normal buffered ram (not the bigger fin having ones)
I do NOT want to fool around and sell it to a user with an incompatible machine because on ebay no matter how wrong the buyer is you can be robbed is what can happen
Like this:
Oh look, how nice, they bought ram which wasn't compatible with their 386 despite huge red warnings all over the listing = you're doomed
They want a refund because the ram was incompatible with their toaster? You're *****
The memory won't work with their cat?
Your fault as the seller since you may as well jump off of a building if there is ANY issue
So I don't want to make any mistakes since this stuff is extremely impossible to find and will sell for a high price. No one can find this stuff anywhere at all and even the regular kvr stuff is selling pretty high
I extremely don't want some big huge refund case to fight so I want to be 100% sure I know which machines it works in
I'll appreciate any help ..... if everyone does not get mad at me for having PC desktops everywhere and a Droid telephone ... I swear I've never insulted macs ever I love macs so much over here
Thank you !!!
