I sold my iPhone on ebay today and am trying to unlock it. I chose iLiberty+ because I have a PC.

I restored the phone, ran iLiberty+, choosing Jailbreak, Activate, YouTube Fix, Unlock, and Downgrade to 3.9FakeBlank. I also told it to install the Installer.

Everything worked like a charm until I tried to test YouTube. Could that be because I have an AT&T sim card in my phone? I read somewhere on these boards that if the phone was not activated through iTunes and has an AT&T sim, that YouTube won't work. Is that the case? If so, how can I test this before I mail this phone to my buyer? I'm not sure if I can find anyone with T-mobile around here. Besides the YouTube Fix from iLiberty+, I tried the Youtube activation through installer. That didn't help either.

Also, after I unlocked, iTunes came up and synced with the phone (although I had nothing set to sync, so music or contacts, etc. was moved to the phone). Was it supposed to do that or will that cause a problem?

Thanks for any help!

Hi, Can you please post how you got it working?
I am having the same issues. Clicked on all the options from iLiberty+ including youtube fix and the "youtube fix" from the installer did not resolve the issue.

Please advise.

Sorry that I didn't see this sooner. I know how frustrating it is. I read somewhere to not install the "YouTube Fix" when unlocking. So, I started over with the restore and re-unlocked without the fix. When it finished, it looked like YouTube wasn't going to work again. It came up with the message saying that it couldn't connect to YouTube. I tried it several times and then just let it sit at the screen saying that it couldn't connect. After a few minutes, it did connect. I got the message a few other times, but then it consistently connected.

I sure hope that it works fine when the buyer receives it!

I hope this helps you if you haven't already fixed it. I also read to be sure to check the iPhone date for some reason. That didn't help me.

Good luck! When you figure yours out, can you post how you did it, too? I think there are quite a few people out there who have had this problem, from what I've read.

Got it fixed..

Basically did a restore and unlocked/jailbreak my iphone again using iLiberty.
This time, I did NOT use the youtube fix from iLiberty. Instead I used the one int the installer.

Did have a small issue with mail automatically closing after the mail app is opened after the restore but i fixed that as well.

All is good now.
Thanks.
